TIP Tuesday // "Invisible" Cuticle

Hello Lovelies!! Welcome to another #TIPtuesday, today we are talking about the mysterious // Invisible Cuticle // and how it can affect your jamicure! More often than not, this tends to be the issue with most of my customers' application problems.

Okay, so lets get down and dirty:

What the heck is an "invisible cuticle"

► Most of us think of our cuticle as the collection of excess skin at the BASE of our nail, but what many aren't aware of is that it also collects on the sides of our nail as well!! So this has been dubbed as the invisible cuticle, simply because we aren't always aware it's there until we use a cuticle remover and see that indeed there was something there, lol

Why is it important to remove the invisible cuticle?

► As you may know, the adhesive on our jams is formulated to adhere to our nails NOT our skin. With our cuticle being comprised of skin, applying jams over this can result in a jamicure that will only last a few days or even a few hours. Nail prep is a very important step, this includes removal of an excess skin on the nail bed.

How to remove the invisible cuticle:

► My favorite way is to use our CUTICLE REMOVER PEN in conjunction with our cuticle pusher! Our cuticle remover pen has a special tip which allows you to apply the formula precisely where it is needed. Once I have it on, I wait a minute and then go back with a cuticle pusher and pay attention to the entire "U-shape" of my nail bed, making sure I get ALL of that invisible cuticle removed. I then go wash my hands with degreasing dish soap and a nail brush.

► I also have a metal spoon pusher that I use from time to time (be mindful to not scrape too hard with this little baby, it's practically a weapon) ...this tool is also perfect for the application process as well!

Nail Prep makes a world of difference!

► I am willing to bet, once you have paid attention to this fun little Tuesday Tip your jams application will be a more successful one!! You should notice a huge difference when wearing those beautiful jamicures!!! Your mani should last much longer with less lifting and bubbling around the edges, yay!!! Good luck dear and feel free to comment below with questions!

Additional Cuticle TIPS ▼

Do NOT cut your cuticles :: Our cuticle is the barrier that protects our nails from bacteria! Cutting your cuticles can also lead to ridges, white spots or white lines on your nails.

► Keep those cuticles moisturize!! Just like our skin, cuticles need to be moisturized to stay healthy and functioning properly (they are made of skin after all.) I use Jamberry's Cuticle Oil on the daily and keep our cuticle oil pen in my handbag at all times!!   My hands have never looked so beautiful since I started using cuticle oil, ahhh!!! A MUST!
